Cardigans from 40 years ago...
A friend shared a 1969 issue of The Cardigan News Bulletin. I wanted to share a couple photos from that issue.
From an advertisement from Winsdown Kennels...
and in article regarding English Show News was this dog...
Dogs were leggier in the past, and lighter boned. I've not personally found any photos of a LOW Cardi, with a lot of bone from 40+ years ago. If anyone knows of any, I'd love to see!
The lower, with more bone trend seems to have really picked up over the last 15 years in my observations. Please, anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong *G*

Are they in Luther's pedigree? The patterning is so similar!
I know they are back behind Emma & Magnet.
CH Coedwig's Carbon Blue is a grandson of Winsdown Albert.
Winsdown Albert is a grandson of CH Winsdown Black Dichromate.
CH Winsdown Black Dichromate is a son of the original Winsdown Brymore Carbon Blue and CH Winsdown Bymore Cat Ballou.
Cat Ballou is a niece to UK CH Parmel Digger. Digger is a littermate to her sire, UK CH Parmel Dictator.
My thanks to Kathy Carlson of Wyntr Cardigans for this information! http://my.voyager.net/~farrago/Articles/Winsdown/WinsdownHM.html
When I have time, I will be tracing Luther's side back.
They look just a tiny bit leggier than today's dogs...but it might just be an illusion due to their markings.
