Another baking triumph (according to the pack)

Yesterday was cold and damp, so to warm up the kitchen I experimented for the dogs. This is the result...

Super Simple Doggy Peanut Butter & Honey Treats
1 package Jiffy corn muffin mix
1 egg
1 serving spoon of creamy peanut butter
1/8-1/4 cup of honey (I just squirted it in the bowl without measuring)

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients together, roll into small balls and use a fork to flatted on the cookie sheet. Bake for 11-12 minutes to get crispy. Yield 5 dozen quarter sized treats.

I actually tasted one and they are just like peanut butter cookies with a bit of a grainy texture due to the cornmeal. The dogs LOVE them!

I was going to say, they look good enough to eat! Lucky dogs!

I could not get Leonard to try one though LOL, because I made them for the dogs. No way would he try it.

MMMM! They sound good! I would definitely have tried one. I like cornbread so the grainy texture would probably be OK.

They also sound like a good cost efficient way to serve up some dog treats. The stuff at the all-natural dog store I shop at is very expensive!

I LOVE these recipies! I needed some new treats to make! Thank you Holly!

@ Taryn - I agree! Since I have one dog with allergies and I want to have treats that all can have, this is the cost effective way to do it.

I have to admit the recipes with a gazillion ingredients scare me. I want to limit my dirty dishes and I remember how my aunt used to cook without measuring - so I am experimenting in honor of her!

I really need to get a melon baller so I can have uniform sized treats.
