CATCH Bette!

On our travels home from Kansas, I got the phone call from Kris Jansen that Bette earned her CATCH last Sunday!

We are thrilled for you!!

Catching up!

What a great National! This had to be one of my favorites to attend. I apologize for my lack of posts but I am trying to get over a head cold I caught on the way home.

First off, I want to thank everyone who was there to help me out with my dogs. I could not have done it with out you! It seems that the mattresses in the host hotel and my back did not like each other and my sciatica was rearing its ugly head on me. Thank goodness there was a 24/7 Wally World 2 miles away and my doctor was able to call in some nice meds for me.

Thank you Renee & Dina for all your help at the Herding Trial! Thank you to Diana & Mackenzie Mann who handled Snickers for me and to Genie Bishop and Kerri Carter who handled Luther in the Megan and BOB classes. And to everyone who helped walk and play with my kids - THANK YOU!

I did handle Luther to a 3rd place in Stud Dog, with VERY nice competition! We did have to table the stud dogs and I took the gamble with my back. It felt good to be in the ring with my boy and his handsome sons.

Luther took it all in stride and showed his heart out. And he really got a good look by the judge. He was in the same group as Dickens (CH Twinroc Santa Paws) and his son so we did not get the cut. But I was proud of my boy and thilled with all the nice complements from everyone! And watching his son, Sterling, get an AOM was thrilling!

The BEST was meeting friends, old and new! Getting to meet all our blogger friends and putting faces with names was what made this trip great!

I will share our sight seeing in another post!

What a week!

This week was so busy, it went by like a whirlwind! What a fun time we had!!

Details later as I am exhausted, but I must brag that Luther's son, Sterling, won an Award of Merit! And we are so happy for Shelly and her Dolly for going Best of Winners!! And a BIG CONGRATS to all the other winners!!

Luther did not make the cut but he did get a real good look from the judge, and lots of wonderful compliments from many people. Thank you!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard to make this one of the best Specialties I have yet to attend.

More details when we get home - way too tired now!!

Columbia, Missouri!

We're only one day away from Salina, KS! Genie & I had a wonderful dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse! It was soooo yummy! Yes, I love my beef and this was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time!

Tomorrow we will arrive in Salina and get settled for herding over the weekend!

We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Snickers and... we're off!

I am headed to New Jersey today to meet up with Genie Bishop, then Tuesday we're leaving for Kansas! I wish everyone safe travels and I look forward to seeing some of you there!

I want to thank my friend, MaryAnne, for these great photos of Snickers. She is 14 months old in these photos. These were taken at her very first show this past Friday, where she went RWB.

Here is Snickers practicing "pointing". While ringside we met up with Patsy, Carol & the wonderful Vizsla people! Luther's Vizlsa "littermate", Blaze, was Best of Breed! We were able to get a great photo of the "littermates" together! I will share when I get back from the trip!

I also want to congratulate MaryAnne and her beautiful GSD, Deidre, on winning their first AKC point yesterday (owner handled over pros)!
