The trio of Snickers with her daughters is actually wonderful to watch. They adore each other and are nearly inseparable.

First Photos

First off, I want to thank all of you who have sent your good wishes and that have prayed for us. It has been a roller coaster 48 hours.

We almost lost Snickers sue to excessive blood loss yesterday. I took her back to the vet today for a check up as I was very worried about her still. We all were having flashbacks, esp. for the staff at my vet clinic.

Snickers needs tons of R & R as these pups took so much out of her. I went and bought the highest calorie dog food I could find (Abady, 800 kcal per cup - retailer was an hour away) and I am feeding her lots of yummy ice cream and yogurt with it.

This is the Special Sundae for Snickers. Abady food topped with 2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream and dehydrated liver "cherry on top".

Now, on to the puppy photos!

The first born pup in the warming box accompanied by Pearl the Kitty.

The 3 blue girls. All have brindle points.

The 5 tan pointed tris. The lone boy is the furthest left.

The 3 brindle pointed tri girls.

There are no mismarks, and very few solid white collars.

A friend who raises Pembroke Welsh Corgis had a litter due today and the dam was only carrying 2-3 pups. They have offered to take some of our puppies to nurse and I think I am going to take her up on the offer, to give Snickers a break.

WOW!

We have (drum roll please) - 10 girls (7 bw/tri, 3 blue merle) and 1 boy (tan point tri), via c-section.

More info later- we're exhausted!

Ready for blastoff! Temp drop!

Snickers' temperature was 98.4 at 5:30 this morning. We should have pups in the near future!

Heavily pregnant, the last few days...

Sometimes a little extra spoiling helps make eating easier when you are this far along... She will only eat when hand fed and we don't care! She deserves to be pampered!

Snickers is nice enough to share with the ancient cat, Twister. He begs worse than any dog we have.

My warming box, topped by Vera Bradley, has volunteers to keep it extra warm... The cats are addicted to sleeping on my Vera bags... they have good taste!

Take your dog to work day and "The Xray"

This morning Snickers joined me at the office for "Take Your Dog to Work Day". She was a great ambassador and took plenty of naps.

Then we went straight to the vet clinic. We are at Day 50 from the first breeding. My vet prefers to x ray as close to whelping as possible, but we did the best we could this early...

You can click the photo to make it full size. We count at least 6 with a possible 7th, but there could be more hiding.

Two weeks to go!

It is hard to show the basketball belly...

From either angle...

But Ben is very photogenic!! He kept getting in my way of photographing Snickers.

Sabrina is thinking: "So what is the big deal?"
Snickers would like to know if I will stop the photo shoot so she can continue her nap.

But Ben said "Don't stop! I love having my picture taken!"

Snickers will be xrayed tomorrow.

Puppies due July 6?!

July 6th would be 9 weeks from estimated ovulation. Today is 5 weeks from the first breeding and we have a distinct bulge. I am very excited at the opportunity to have Dallas puppies!

Updates -Olivia, Emma, Snickers

I need to find time to update my website...

GO TEAM OLIVIA! Olivia got her CD today!! Barb thinks she got extra points for being cute as she much prefers agility to obedience.

Unfortunately, Emma is not pregnant. I am disappointed. Our plan is now to breed Snickers to Dallas when she comes in season. She is due to come in at the end of the month. Snickers lives up to her name of Sweet Treat - she is so sweet her bones must be made of sugar. Combined with Dallas' phenomenal temperament, I am very excited at this pairing.

Bluetiful!

Aren't they just beautiful? (L) Zsa Zsa (C) Emma (R) Snickers

Their beautiful markings (reversed order).
I love how they go from lots of body black to very minimal.

Leonard's sister, Susan, visited today from Syracuse. Emma thought she was the greatest!

Two more photo & call name pedigrees...

Zsa Zsa's pedigree is complete.

Snickers' pedigree is 90% complete. I just LOVE the call name/registered name combos that Rita comes up with!

PS: Thanks for the well wishes.
Penni - good, legal drugs do work wonders! Not sure about the ones your clients know about. LOL!

Snickers and... we're off!

I am headed to New Jersey today to meet up with Genie Bishop, then Tuesday we're leaving for Kansas! I wish everyone safe travels and I look forward to seeing some of you there!

I want to thank my friend, MaryAnne, for these great photos of Snickers. She is 14 months old in these photos. These were taken at her very first show this past Friday, where she went RWB.

Here is Snickers practicing "pointing". While ringside we met up with Patsy, Carol & the wonderful Vizsla people! Luther's Vizlsa "littermate", Blaze, was Best of Breed! We were able to get a great photo of the "littermates" together! I will share when I get back from the trip!

I also want to congratulate MaryAnne and her beautiful GSD, Deidre, on winning their first AKC point yesterday (owner handled over pros)!

Happy First Birthday Snickers!

Happy Birthday Snickerdoodle!

Time flies! It seems hard to believe that Snickers is a year old already. And, that she is the only blue merle in my house.

She did get a new lime green elephant stuffy as a present, but Chloe snatched it instantly.
