Name help!

Right now my heart goes to Lutherette. If she continues to show the promise that she does now, she will be staying. That said, her registered name will be Visions Miss-Taken Identity.

What will I call her? I truly believe that they are what you name them. Magnet definitely is my velcro dog and Tristan, named for a combination of characters from James Herriot's work and Legends of the Fall, was my bad boy, always in trouble . I cannot live in a house with both a Luther and a Lutherette. Missy I use sacastically when a girl is being bad, so I don't want to actually name her that. I want her to have a sweet, nice name.

Any suggestions?

PS - updated photos will have to wait until the weekend since Leonard is working mega long hours these next two days.

Peepers! And thanks!

Guess who had the first eye opening experience last night?

The little guy!

The rest of his F-A-T siblings napping, as all good puppies do! These are the most content pups we have ever had. Leonard is very impressed, thinking they should be named Quiet, Good, etc...

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes on my new position. I am now the new church secretary for a lovely congregation only 4 minutes from home! It is the perfect setting, lovely people, perfect location and great hours!

I really did enjoy doing the CWCCA Newsletter and Handbook over the past few years and I only gave up the newsletter when it did interfere with my then full time job. Funny how that job vanished a couple months later... Now I can do the same for this organization as my job!

Life is good.

A big blessing...

I have been hired for the position that is truly what I * WANT * to do!

I have been applying for PT positions left and right and never heard back... the one and only position that I did hear back from is the one I truly wanted. After a phone interview, a face-to-face interview with the committee and the final interview yesterday, I was offered the position!

I start next Monday!

One week old, in pictures

Boy #1, the only pup who did not double their birthweight, but still the largest at 23 oz.

Boy #2, 22 oz. I am leaning to the fact that he is a bright brindle point, instead of tan pointed. Time will tell.

Boy #3, he did double his birthweight and is 15 oz.

Lutherette, 18 oz.

Girl #2 (on right), now 17 oz.

Web cam shot

Thanks to Aunties Susan & Julie for catching this precious moment today!

Day 4

Look how content these guys are! They just had their dew claws removed, still in the car on the way home. They fell right to sleep, never even noticed what happened!

My vet is AWESOME! He said they would be fine to be done on day 4 and he was not kidding. They had the pups in the back for about 10 minutes and brought me back a basket of content, napping puppies. He loved how well Lacey is doing and how gorgeous the pups were.

We go back again next Monday for Lacey's staples to be removed.

Day 2 Photos

Boy #1. The only pup without a full white collar. 12 oz at birth, 14 oz today.

Boy #2. 11 oz at birth, 14 oz today. He's a piglet! Sorry you can't see his tan cheeks from this view.

Boy #3. 7.5 oz at birth, 8.5 oz today. He is very active and feisty!

Yup, he's tan pointed! I am thrilled that all 3 boys are, and looking under the tail is the best way to tell.

Girl #1 (Luthertte). 8 oz at birth, 10 oz today. She is not a mismark. Luther had the same markings as a newborn. All white markings shrink as they grow.

Girl #2. 9 oz at birth, 11 oz today.

A brindle pointed puppy bum.

We do have a theme finally picked out for the pups. Since they missed being born on Friday the 13th, this is the "miss" litter. Some suggestions have been:

Visions Near Miss
Visions Hit Or Miss
Visions Missed By A Mile
Visions Miss Congeniality
Visions Did You Miss Me
Visions Little Miss Sunshine
Visions Miss America
Visions Miss Manners
Visions Didn't Miss a Thing
Visions Missed The Mark (possibly for the white headed boy?)

First Photo

At least 2, and maybe all 3, boys are tan pointed! One is a mismark. The two girls are brindle pointed.

They were born on their late Grandmum Demi's birthday. The theme for this litter is "Miss" since they missed being born on Friday the 13th. Right now I am too tired to write the list of ideas.

PUPPIES!

Katrin the Visions reporter here writing to say that Holly called to say that Lacey had a c-section and now has 5 BEAUTIFUL babies! 3 boys, 2 girls. Unfortunately one little boy was lost, he was stuck in the birth canal.

One of the girls is marked JUST like her father, Luther! It's a Luter-ette!

Stay tuned for photos once Holly gets some much needed sleep.

In labor!

Lacey was very uncomfy all day and I prob missed her temp drop during the wee morning hours. It was 99.9 at 11pm last night, and 98.6 at 6:30am.

She has been nesting all day and refused her chicken for lunch. Her water broke at 5:10pm tonight.

Stay tuned!

And we are expecting...

Six!

If you click on the image to enlarge, you can see that tibias & fibias are viewed, so predicted whelping is 48 hours!

Lacey has been extremely uncomfy today and has been nesting regularly.

Photos and updates

The photos do not do her belly justice. Lacey is still in very good humor, loves to play with her piggy, and has not missed a meal. She is now on 3 meals a day so they can be smaller, and she gobbles them right down. She has to be one of the happiest bitches I have had this far along.

Caveat: I never let my dogs have small toys, but Lacey is in LOVE with the pink pig! She kept stealing it back whenever I took it away from her. I did give in and let her have it under supervision. She has ignored every other toy in the house.

And great news regarding Anne, the red tick puppy. She now has her forever home! A BIG THANK YOU to all who cared!

8-9-10

The perfect way to celebrate is with homemade ice cream pie, served with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and sprinkles.

Happy Birthday Leonard! (Yes, he got to eat his pie a day early.)

Lacey on Web Cam

Welcome to my home. This is your invitation to join us for the whelping and rearing of our litter of pups.

I have my webcam hosted with Mare Stare. You get wonderful service for the small fee you pay. For now the cam is on during the when I am out and about and evenings. When Lacey goes into labor, we will have it on 24/7.

We have an active thread on the Mare Stare forum for Lacey. While there, look around! It is a wonderful community! Watch some of the cams. Open up the Barn Alarm which will alert you when a mum-to-be in labor. Send good thoughts for the new arrivals and pray for those who need His help.

Most of all, have fun!

Red Tick English Coonhound for adoption

"Anne" was found on a country road miles from any human habitat. My friend's daughter had to hack through brambles and dig her out of a briar patch in 105 degree weather to save her. She was very thin, loaded with fleas, ticks, worms, etc. All conditions are being treated with appropriate medications and diet. She is sweet and cooperative. The vet says she is 10 weeks old.

She is waiting for the perfect home. They are willing to drive her from South Carolina as far as to New York for the right family.

Contact me for more information.
