Bringing Home Brandy!

Meeting Micaela & Brandy

It was a long day, and two long car rides for Brandy, but she is now HOME. I brought 3 of the short dogs with me to meet her at the neutral place. On the way back, Sabrina rode loose with her in the middle of the Element, sharing a dog bed. She is such a sweet, dignified lady!

Brandy is larger than what was originally estimated - my guess is a 65-70 lb dog when in good condition. She is a little thin, and with 3 small meals a day I think we can get her into a good weight. Her coat is gorgeous! And she now wears a beautiful Lupine collar.

I can tell she is VERY sore from arthritis. As soon as the vet clinic opens, I am going to see if I can get her in today. She needs something to make her more comfortable.

Everyone here accepted her. Not even a hiss from the cats. I have most of the corgis loose with her in the livingroom and they all respect her space. Baby Zsa Zsa has been trying to initiate play with Brandy, and seems quite confused when our old lady doesn't respond.

I am also working with the wonderful animal communicator, Sage Chapman, who helped when Eva was lost. I hope we can show this wonderful "old lady" love and happiness for the rest of her life.

Welcome home Brandy! And again, what an angel you two are for bringing her home to stay.

Brandy is a very lucky dog. I know your feeling about having a large dog. Mine was the opposite. I missed my cocker and finally found my Cardi.

I def. can see the GSD in her, it is wonderful that she gets to live out her retirement years with tons of love and attention. And Corgis too!!

I forgot to say that Brandy is a purebred GSD whose ears never stood. There is no mix about it.

Our vet appt is for 4:00 pm.

We have a 10 year old GSD in our house and all the Cardis look up to her. It was not uncommon to see Maggie scold them when they misbehaved. The Cardis always stopped waht they were doing when she did this, just like she is their Mom. Maggie has arthritis in her hips and spine and has declined rapidly over the past year. The Cardis now take care of her. It is not uncommon for two of our boys to be grooming her eyes and ears. Maggie just lies there and soaks it in. Dogs are amazing! Thank you for caring enough to take Brandy in her declining years. GSD are as special as Cardis.

Holly, thank you for your kind words but you took her in and fell in love and she knows how it feels to belong now. She'll be one I keep in my heart. She has come so far so fast, bless you all. Sage
