Seasonal Fare

It is hard to believe that fall has come when it seems that summer never came.

This weekend we enjoyed the splendors of the season. Not traditional was my buffalo chicken lasagna which we enjoyed with butternut squash, mulled cider and ended with fresh cider donuts. I do enjoy the flavors of the season!

Brown Dog Update.

Last week older brown dog turned 9. Happy Belated Birthday Tristan!

Tristan & Eva are settled in at their new home together now. Tristan enjoys stealing Eva's favorite bone and either burying it in the yard or stashing it in a secret corner of their home. Look at how Eva's coat is now so shiny after her life on the run a month ago!

Frogs!

I adore frogs! I think they are some of the neatest creatures. Yesterday we went to the Berkshire Museum to see the exhibit Frogs! A Chorus of Colors.

Poison Frogs - The blue & white are Dyeing Dart Frogs, the yellow & black are Bumblebee Dart Frogs and the golden terrors, the Golden Dart Frog, is the most poisonous vertebrate in the world.

This is the skeleton of a Goliath Frog, the largest frog in the world.

Luther's son, Rocky, finished his championship today! Congrats to Kim & Leo!

Herding Day 2 - New PT!

Luther earned his PT with lovely comments from the judges - one even saying "Great corgi. I hope you have plans to keep working him." I plan to learn ducks so we will go from there.

What makes this even more special, he got his legs on my birthday (Friday) and my late father-in-law's birthday (yesterday)! What a special present.

His dam, Demi, earned her first point to her Championship on my husband's birthday (8/9) and finished a few months later on my mother's birthday (11/24). So competing on birthdays must be good karma!

Herding Day 1

Luther got his first Q for his PT with a beautiful run.

I am staying at Katrin's overnight with Luther & Zsa Zsa. We met up with Julie for dinner. We had Korean BBQ which was fantastic! And a yummy chocolate ganache cake for desert. Thank you both!! What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday.

Hopefully we will get his 2nd Q tomorrow, which would have been my father-in-law's birthday.
